My name is Jenna Livingston and I want to tell you a little about me and my life. I am 16 years old and it’s just been me and my mom ever since my dad left when I was 3 years old. I have always wondered what happened, but when I ask my mom she just answers with “We were just young honey, things just happen like that sometimes. Don’t worry you will always have me”. Well, ever since my mom got a promotion at work we have been traveling a lot for her to work on her horror novels. So, here I am sitting in this dreadful car for several hours moving into a town I haven’t even heard of, having to go to a different school and make new friends. Jenna looks out the window as the trees pass by and she lets out a long sigh of boredom. Her mom gives her a glance over the rearview mirror.
“Jen I know you aren’t fond of this but just bear with me okay? I’m sure you will like it here. There’s a lake not even a mile from the log house we are going to stay in, maybe we can have a little fun while we are here and just maybe you will meet some good friends here,” says Mrs. Livingston as she pulls up to the log house. Jenna gets out of the car and helps her mom carry in the bags.
“Ehh I guess so,” Jenna says as she sets the bags down. “It is beautiful after all.” Jenna and her mom spend the rest of the day unpacking and settling into their new home for the summer.
The next day….
Jenna wakes up refreshed as she smelled the aroma of bacon, eggs and toast swirling around the house as if it was kissing every corner of her room and after breakfast she asked her mom if she could go to the lake.
“Sure you can honey, it’s nice to see you’re in a better mood about this place,” her mom says with a smile as Jenna rushes out the door and to the lake. As the hours pass Jenna has so much fun exploring the place and historical yet creepy scenery that she didn’t realize it had gotten dark. She looks up at the sky as it changes into a beautiful purple and dark blue.
“Oh crap I gotta get home!” she says to herself as she tries to hurry back. As she’s running she stops midway to catch her breath as her hearts pounding. All of a sudden she gets a sense of someone watching her she looks around and sees an old wooden cabin just barely peeking out between two giant trees that looked like they were clawing at the roof of the cabin. As she squints her eyes to try to examine it even more from a distance she sees an old woman just staring at her with piercing eyes through one of the windows. This freaks her out so she runs until she reached the log house her and her mom are staying in, opens the door, slams it shut and locks it quickly behind her. She goes upstairs, gets ready for bed and tries not to think about what she just saw.
Day 2….
Jenna is sitting on her bed on her laptop messaging her friends from back home while her mom continues on her novel. She looks out her window as she gets that uneasy feeling in her stomach like she did while she walking home. She decides to go tell her mom about her experience and her mom just reassures her that she was just overreacting because it’s an unfamiliar place. She tries to reassure herself the same and gets ready for bed.
3:00am the same night..
Images of the lady’s face flashes into her mind as she sleeps. She wakes up and looks at the clock as it read 3:05am. She gets up confused and still disoriented from sleep. She finds her way to the bathroom to put some water on he face and makes her way to the kitchen to get a drink of water. As she looks out the foggy window over the kitchen sink she sees something wrote on it that says “I CHOOSE YOU” that appears to be written in blood. She gasps in terror and drops her glass leaving it to shatter on the floor and let’s out piercing scream that wakes her mother. Her mom wakes up startled, runs to her and calling out to her.
“Jenna! Jenna! Are you okay? What happened?” She sees terror on her little girls face as though she has seen a ghost and grabs her to comfort her. Jenna struggles to speak as she tries to tell her mom what she just saw.
“Ma-mom it was terrible… I seen this lady while I was coming back from the lake. She was staring at me from in this old cabin, now I see her in my dreams and I was getting some water and I seen something wrote in blood on the window.” Her mom examines the window and doesn’t find a trace of anything. She looks at her daughter and says;
“I think you’re just under a lot of stress.” Jenna looks at her mom fiercefully as she realizes her mom doesn’t believe what she is saying.
“Mom I’m not crazy!” Jenna proclaims she runs back to her room in anger.
Day 5….
Jenna sits on the couch watching tv as she hears her mom talking on the phone in the other room.
“Yeah, I don’t know what’s going on with her she’s just not the same girl as she was back home. She has been having nightmares and seeing things. I say it’s stress, but I’m not sure what it is. Hopefully everything will get better… alright nice to hear from you. Bye.” Jenna calls out to her mom as she hangs up the phone.
“So, you were talking about me?” Jenna asks with anger in her eyes.
“Honey, I’m just worried about you is all. You just have been acting different lately. Who do you talk to at night?” her mom asks. Jenna looks at her mom and a smile slowly comes across her face. As her mom looks back her she realizes her daughter doesn’t look like her little girl anymore. She has this evil gleam in her eye. As though if she would have been able to read what was on her mind she would fear for her life.
“I’m chosen mommy and so are you!” she says in an unnatural inhuman voice as she holds knife tightly in her right hand.
