(Yes, this is following the line I have made in the past, just added the “New Visitor” for cool effect)
There was nothing left in the book. That was the only thing I had left of Masky. Even if he did try to kill me, he was still like a little brother. Better than my older brother. I walked out of the room, into the hall. I heard a television playing, with the news on.
“Hey guys, check this out! Apparently some family got murdered near here!” Toby said laughing.
“So?” I asked. I didn’t care.
“Yeah, what’s so cool about that? we do it all the time?” Hoodie asked, slugging towards us.
“This murder is supposedly linked with twelve other murders!” he said, laughing again.
“You think it’s another one of us?” Hoodie asked.
“No way, Slenderman would’ve told us. Plus, this is all new. We can’t be sure.” I said.
“Well whatever it is, I wanna know. Actually, Where is the boss? Ever since..um…that, he hasn’t come back.” Toby said, standing and turning off the TV.
“Not sure. Wanna go look?” I asked the two. They nodded. I nodded back and left for my weapons. I grabbed them and met the guys at the door. Toby opened it and gestured for us to leave. Stepping out, I took in cold midnight air and walked down. The guys followed behind me.
It felt like hours since we left. We all were getting restless.
“Man, where is this guy? I honestly don’t understand wh-” Hoodie paused. “Do you hear that? That static?” Hoodie asked.
“yeah, what is that?” I responded.
“That’s Slenderman!” Hoodie yelled and began running. I began running after him, Toby behind me. I questioned how he knew that, but with the certainty in his voice, I figured he was right. The leaves crunched and flew up under our feet as we ran. My heart began to beet faster and faster, almost like it was keeping time with the static. It got louder and louder, so I thought we were getting closer. Eventually I saw Slenderman in the distance. He looked weird. based on how he was standing, it was like he was looking down at something. Or someone. Hoodie stopped unexpectedly, making me bash into him from behind. Toby did too.
“Ow! What the heck guys! I’m not fully healed yet! Get off of me!” He yelled angrily.
“Not my fault you stopped DEAD IN MY WAY!” I yelled back.
“Come on guys! Lets get up.” Toby said, calming us down and forcing himself up off of us. I jumped up and helped Hoodie up too. I looked up at Slenderman. The static had stopped. We ran up to see what it was that Slenderman was looking at. When we approached, he stepped back. There was a kid. Looked to be twelve, lying down. He slowly opened his eyes. It was dark, so it was hard to make it out, but it was the kid on the news. Tommy Jackson. The static began again, and Tommy was out.
“Take him to the house.” Slenderman ordered. Toby lifted him up, turned around and walked back. Hoodie followed behind him. I turned around and took a step. I was stopped.
“Not you, Casy. I need you here.” He said. I paused and turned around again, slightly worried.
“He, well he is a young boy. We must ensure he is safe. Even for me, his story is tragic. Treat him like a brother. You can do that, can’t you?” He said, not lifting his head.
“Uh, yes sir. One thing. Is he important to you? You seem to care for him.” I said, nervous that I may get scolded for being nosy.
“No. Anything else? I can tell you have something on your mind.” He said, still staring down.
“Yes, why were you gone for so long? We were all worried.” I asked. He didn’t respond, but sent me back home, where the guys were just walking up to. Without question, the guys excepted the fact that I had obviously been asked of something, and walked into the house. We set Tommy down on the table and waited. After a while, he finally began to move. He opened his eyes, looking up at us. I smiled slightly at him. All I knew was that I had to keep him safe. I knew instantly he felt excepted, based on an unworried expression. I knew he had to belong here. I didn’t know if he would be trained though. I also had no idea what his story was. I just knew it was tragic. Even for the boss.
